After a professional career as a chef for over 25 years including 16 as an Executive Chef in London I’ve since been providing commercial food and drink photography to local, regional, national and international clients over the last 7 years.
Food photography seemed a natural progression combining my extensive experience across all areas of the industry and my other passion photography.
I have been very lucky to train with one of the Uk’s top food photographers.
I only shoot food and drink, unlike a lot of other food photographer’s out there.
How does this help you my potential client?
As well as providing great images, I can style your food saving you the expense of hiring a food stylist. I can also if required provide a prep service negating the need for a kitchen team.
I have relationships with food studios in London who provide a wide range of props meaning a prop stylist is no longer required.
If you require a location shoot with props then please do let me know what you are after as I have a range of props for hire – I will be adding a prop page soon to the site for a full list of what is currently available for hire.
Right on to the techy stuff what will you get on a shoot?
Normally I shoot RAW with the mighty 50MP Canon 5DSR, Canon full frame back up, a selection of prime, macro and L series glass, Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 1000 watt lighting, all tethered via Capture One Pro 10 to a Kaby Lake Retina MacBook Pro along with around 100kg of various back drops, blow torches, scalpels, tweezers & food styling bits.....
Certain clients do need a bit more… I can also on request shoot with the even mightier Phase One IQ3 100MB medium format digital back coupled with the latest Schneider Blue ring leaf lenses.
All images are delivered in Hi Res Jpeg or on request 300mb 16 bit TIFF following inclusive retouching within 24 hours via digital delivery.
I'm based in West London but can travel nationwide for location shoots.
If you'd like a chat either give me a call on 07764 744662 or you can send me a message via the contact page.
Look forward to speaking to you soon
Regards,
Derek
